She was a member of a respected South Central Kentucky family, a native of Fulton County, IL, and a resident of Cumberland County, KY, at the time of her death. Her final resting place will be in Maxey Cemetery in Monroe County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Jimmy & Mary (Smith) Smith, and the widow of Tip Bennett Hurd.
