GCHS students Lindi, Piper, Jake, Autumn winners in challenge Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin recently released a challenge to raise awareness of the opioid epidemic in Kentucky -- a contest to help communicate ways to raise awareness of the problem and to educate the public toward avoiding drug addiction. Click on headline for complete story By Linda Waggener with Debbie Murray Students in Ms. Laura Cash's nineth grade science class at Green County High School took the Governor's challenge and won second place in the state. In their comprehensive marketing entry, GHS students Lindi Compton, Piper Lockard, Jake Stone and Autumn Sidebottom created a news release, commercial, billboard, and radio advertisement. They presented their marketing plans to judges. The goal of the challenge was to create a campaign to inform everyone in Kentucky about the state's online resources available: www.dontletthemdie.com and www.findhelpnowky.org. Their marketing campaign is to help spread education about opoid addiction and free help available. They say, "You are only one click away from HOPE," (Helping Opioid Problems End). The students said these are great resources for anyone struggling with an addiction, or to become educated about this epidemic. their goal was to not only help addicts, but to prevent addictions from ever beginning.
