Junior Wilson, Burkesville, KY/Filmore, CA native (1928-2018)

He was a U. S. World War II Army Air Force Veteran and a manager for the Marrowbone Water District. He was born in Ventura County, CA, and was a resident of Burkesville, KY at the time of his death in Barren County, KY. He was the son of the late Marion Waldo, Sr. and Anna Pearl (Tinkle) Wilson, and the widower of Pat Wilson, his wife of nearly 66 years. He was the patriarch of a large, respected family, leaving 39 direct living descendants.

Mr. Junior Wilson, 89, a longtime resident of Burkesville, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at N.H.C. HealthCare Center in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 1pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Gary Cash officiating. Burial will be in the Dutch Creek Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 2pmCT, Saturday, April 14, 2018 until the funeral hour on Sunday.

Mr. Junior Wilson of Burkesville, KY, and a resident of Glasgow, KY, was born in Filmore, California on Monday, December 3, 1928, the son of Marion Waldo, Sr. and Anna Pearl (Tinkle) Wilson. He died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at N.H.C. HealthCare Center in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 11 days.

He was a U. S. World War II Army Air Force Veteran and a Manager for the Marrowbone Water District.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Wilson, whom he wed Saturday, July 23, 1949, his daughter, Pam Scott, and his grandchildren, Eric Scott, Jeff Scott, and Dawnielle Sweet.

He is survived by:
  • His two children: Richard "Rich" (and Pam) Wilson of Bloomington, IN; Dale Robert Wilson (and Debra Dodd) of Celina, TN

  • His 11 grandchildren: Derrick (and Melissa) Scott, Joe (and Michelle) Anderson, Tamara Jo (and Joey) Davis, Stephanie Anne Odom, Andrew Christopher Wilson, Ryan Nicolas Wilson, Michael Patrick Wilson, Dale Robert, Jr. "DJ" Wilson, Lavanna (and Andy) Hazel, Josh Bailey

  • His 24 great-grandchildren: Destiny Walden, Makayla Cockrill, Kesley Cockrill, Creed Scott, Kevin Graham, Kolton Graham, Brayden Davis, Lauryn Davis, Morgan Hunter, Lily, Khloe, Autumn Grace Scott, Devin, Bayleigh, Kruz, Caden, Wyatt, Broox, Ian, Ryan, Adam, Liam, Eva, Jacob Bailey

  • And his two great-great-grandchildren: Makynlee and Oliver
