Donald (Donnie) Ruell Grant, 69, Taylor Co./Adair Co., KY native (1948-2018)

He was a member of Broadway Church of Christ in Campbellsville, KY. He was owner of Main Street Barber Shop in Campbellsville, KY. He was a barber for over 50 years in all, working in Columbia & Campbellsville. He loved being with his grandchildren & family, enjoyed working on old cars, loved helping others, his job and the customers he served. He was a member of a prominent South Adair County, KY family. He was the son of the late Joe Tom & Mildred Evelyn Bennett Grant. His wife, Rebecca Frankum Grant, survives. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

Donald "Donnie" Ruell Grant age 69 years of Campbellsville, KY, formerly of Adair County, KY, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at 4:41pmET, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10amCT/11amET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Clergy officiating Dwan Hadley. Interment will be in Grant Cemetery at Glensfork, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-9pmCT/5pm-10pmET, Thursday, April 12, 2108, and after 6amCT/7amET, Friday.



Pallbearers: Cade Grant, Dalton Grant, Dwayne Loy, Tony Grant, Ben Loy, Adam Loy, Glenn Frankum and David Frankum.

He was born on May 1, 1948 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Joe Tom & Mildred Evelyn Bennett Grant of Glensfork, KY. He died Monday, April 9, 2018, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and eight days.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Thomasine Loy. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Frankum Grant of Campbellsville, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Matt Grant & his wife Erica of Murfreesboro, TN; and Andrew Ryan Grant & his friend Shannon Cammack of Lexington, KY

  • Two brothers: Joe Russell Grant of Columbia, KY; and Reid Grant & his wife Bobbie of Glensfork, KY

  • One sister: Charline Blair & her husband Dean of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Dalton Grant, Cade Grant, Addyson Grant, Nolan Grant & Nash Grant

  • Mother-in-law: Dessie Frankum of Fairplay, KY

  • And Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
