CAUD General Manager Stone reported at the April 5, 2018 special regular called meeting, GM Lenny Stone received approval to go ahead with plan to connect a lot owned by Anthony Janes and Joe Pyles at the corner of Jamestown Road and Industrial Drive - the old Beulah Bennett property.

The connection would be made at a manhole in the middle of the road, to connect the property to a lift station accessed from Parkview Drive.

This connection, he said, would be done inhouse if approval for an open cut trench can be secured from the State, (from Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 8 in Somerset). An open cut trench would mean interruption of traffic flow on KY 55 at Industrial Driver for most of the duration of the work. will be done by the owners of the property, at no cost to the utility.

Alternatively, the project might require an outside firm to do a directional road bore, which could be done without interrupting traffic. However, the cost for the bore could add additional cost, but might be under the $20,000 cap for contracted work without a bid.

Mr. Stone indicated that at the meeting that a 'dollar store' was planned on the corner. He did not further elaborate on whether the term was generic or if it referred to a specific chain or not.

When the connection is made from the property to the manhole, sewage would gravity feed to a lift station off Parkview Drive, a bit north of industrial drive.

Mr. Stone said that the only cost to CAUD would be the connection, that the cost of sewer within the acreage would be borne by the developers.
