Lonnie (Bodgie) Kirk, 83, Cumberland County, KY (1934-2018)

He was a longtime employee of Ernest Simpson Construction Company and a farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elvenois Anders Kirk, three brothers, Ralph Dixion Kirk, Luster "Luck" Kirkpatrick, and Malcolm Kirk, Sr., and one sister Sarah Elizabeth Pace. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

Lonnie "Bodgie" Kirk, age 83 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Cumberland County Hospital.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11amCT until the service time at 1pmCT.



Lonnie (Bodgie) Kirk, 83, Cumberland County, KY (1934-2018)

Bodgie was born on September 12, 1934 in Cumberland County, KY to the late Bertha Scott Kirk and Lawrence Kirk, Sr. He died Friday, April 6, 2018, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 83 years, six months, and 25 days.

He was a longtime employee of Ernest Simpson Construction Company and a farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Elvenois Anders Kirk, three brothers, Ralph Dixion Kirk, Luster "Luck" Kirkpatrick, and Malcolm Kirk, Sr., and one sister Sarah Elizabeth Pace.

Survivors Include:
  • One son: Tyrone Kirk of Evansville, IN

  • One daughter: Teresa Kirk of Burkesville, KY

  • Three brothers: Elzie "Bean" Kirk of Marrowbone, KY, Lawrence "Duchie" Kirk, Jr. of Glasgow, KY, and Phillip "Rabbit" Kirk of Burkesville, KY

  • Four grandchildren- Laura Kirk, Alexa Kirk, Matthew Kirk, and Reed Kirk

  • Along with a host of other relatives and friends.
