Geneva Triplett (Tootsie) Loy, Russell Co./Adair Co., KY native (1927-2018)

She was a member of a highly regarded South Central Kentucky family with strong family ties in Adair and Russell Counties and elsewhere. She was born in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Emma Bennett Triplett of Adair County, KY. She was the widow of Orvin Loy. She was a cook in the Russell County School System. She leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Geneva "Tootsie" Triplett Loy, 90, of Russell Springs, KY died Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Russell County Hospital ER, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service for Geneva "Tootsie" Loy will be 11amCT, Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Doug Baldwin officiating. Visitation will be after 9amCT, Wednesday. Interment will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 KY-80, Nancy, KY. Special Music will be rendered by Janice Popplewell and Robin Riddle .



Pallbearers: Bobby Powell, Neal Dalton, Jeff Dalton, Daryl Hammond, Mark Tarter, and Collin Myers.

She was born May 7, 1927 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Leslie & Emma Bennett Triplett. She died Saturday, March 31, 2018, in Russell Springs,Russell County, KY, at the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

She was a cook in the Russell County Schools. Preceded in death by parents, husband, Orvin Loy; a sister, Doris Jean Reece, and a brother-in-law, Mack Powell.

Survivors are:
  • Two children: Janice (Russell) Tarter, Somerset, KY; and Dale Wayne (Debbie) Loy, Russell Springs, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Teresa (Adrian) Popplewell, Somerset, KY; Mark (Myra) Russell, Smyrna, TN; Miranda Kay Loy, Campbellsville, KY; and Jordan Colson Loy, Campbellsville, KY
  • Four great grandchildren: Kari Popplewell (Collin) Myers, Hebron, KY; Bailey Tarter, Lily Tarter, and Landon Tarter, all of Smyrna, TN

  • Two sisters: Elouise (Jimmy) Riddle, Red Key, IN; Joyce Powell, Columbia, KY

The family request memorials be made to Fairview Separate Baptist Church. These can be made at the funeral home.
