Maggie Ruth Norris King, of Burkesville, KY, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville, KY.

The Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at 2pmCT in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. Burial will be in the Dutch Creek Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 3pmCT on Friday, March 30, 2018 until the funeral hour on Saturday.



Maggie Ruth Norris King, 91, Cumberland County, KY (1926-2018)

She was born in Cumberland County, KY on Saturday, November 20, 1926, the daughter of Jim and Mary Scott Norris. She passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, having attained the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 9 days.

She was a member of the Dutch Creek United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Douglas King, her sisters, Robbie Garmon and Grace Wright.

She is survived by
  • Her husband: Floyd King of Burkesville, KY, whom she wed on Sunday, February 9, 1947,

  • Her children: Ernie (Marilyn) King of Bowling Green, KY; Jimmy (Karen) King of Burkesville, KY; and Patty (David) Shaw of Lexington, KY,

  • Grandchildren: John (Lora) King, Connie (Robert) Vincent, Adam (Rebecca) King, Amanda (Dustin) Hammock, Kevin King, Ben (Michelle) King,

  • Great grandchildren: Liam King, Avery Vincent, Annelise Vincent, Declan Berkley, Finley King, Cora Hammock, Nolan Hammock, Lacy King, Everleigh King.
