Eyvonne Bridgewaters, Fayette Co./ Adair native (1958-2018)

She was a member of a large, talented Adair County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Jeanette Jones Bridgewaters and Eugene Hughes. Her fiance, Ralph Paul McWhorter, survives. She leaves eight direct living descendants. Her final resting place will be in Adair County, KY.

Eyvonne Bridgewaters, 60, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at 9:54pmET. at her home.

Visitation will be on 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Friday, March 23, 2018 at Cadentown Missionary Baptist Church, 2950 Cadentown Road, Lexinton, KY.

Visitation on Saturday, March 24, 2018 after 10amCT, with funeral service at 12pmNoonCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with burial to follow in Jones Cemetery.



Eyvonne Bridgewaters, Fayette Co./ Adair native (1958-2018)


She was born January 21, 1958, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Jeanette Jones Bridgewater and the late Eugene "Dukie" Hughes. She died Friday, March 16, 2018, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 60 years, one month, and 23 days.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, William Reed "Billy" Bridgewater.

Survivors include:

  • Two daughters: Danyell Bridgewater and Victoria Williams, both of Lexington, KY

  • Her fiance: Ralph Paul McWhorter of Lexington, KY

  • Two brothers: Anthony Bridgewater of Columbia, KY; and Keenan "Redbone" Bridgewater of Frankfort, KY

  • Five sisters: Jane Walkup of Columbia, KY; Leetta Willis of Lexington, KY; and Kathy Bridgewater, Rhonda Jones and Vonda Bridgewater, all of Columbia, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
