She was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Elmo & Carrie Lee Upton Meece. Her husband, Otis Dutton, survives. She leaves 16 direct living descendants, spanning four generations. She was a native of Russell County, KY and a resident of the county at the time of her death in Russell Springs, KY.

Lois Marie Dutton, 84, of Russell Springs, died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs.

Funeral service for Lois Marie Dutton will be 11amCT, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Salem United Baptist Church with Bro. Larold Gosser officiating Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Friday, March 16, 2018, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, and after 9amCT, Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery. Special Music will be rendered by the Salem Church Jr. Choir. Active pallbearers: Danny Allen Johnson, Vinger Bennett, Christopher Vance Johnson, Jonathan Otis Johnson, Jeffrey Lane Dutton, Drake Allen Johnson. Honorary pallbearers: Isacc Johnson, Ryan Matthew Johnson, Caleb James Johnson.

She was born September 24, 1933 in Russell County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Elmo & Carrie Lee Upton Meece. She died Sunday, March 11, 2018, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 84 years, five months, and 15 days.

Lois was a homemaker and a member of Salem United Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Cliff Otis Dutton, and Jeffrey Lane Dutton; a brother, Rueben Meece; and a sister, Joyce Popplewell.

Survivors:
  • Her husband: Otis Dutton

  • Two children: Jennifer Lynn Johnson, Nicholasville, KY; and Melody Irene (Paul) Coffey, Russell Springs, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Danny Allen Johnson, Jeffrey Lane Dutton,Jr. Christopher Vance Johnson, Amanda Renee Weston, Jonathan Otis Johnson, and Hillary Elaine Johnson

  • Six great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren

  • One half sister: Catherine Reno, New Castle, IN
