Arlene Grant, Glensfork, Adair Co., KY (1927-2018)

She was the matriarch of a prominent Adair County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Bascum & Grace Bradshaw Grant. With her death, four siblings, of the 12 children born to Bascum & Grace Grant, survive. She leaves four direct living descendants. She was a cook and had worked at Lindsey Wilson College for 30 plus years.

Arlene Grant age 90 years of Glensfork, KY passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 7:45pmCT, at T. J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral service Monday, March 12, 2018 at 12pmNoonCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson the officiating clergy. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Monday, at the funeral home.

She was born on September 26, 1927 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of to the late Bascum & Grace Bradshaw Grant. She died Thursday, March 8, 2018, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 90 years, five months, and 10 days.

She is survived by:
  • One daughter: Jennie Watson & her husband Stanley of Glensfork, KY

  • Granddaughter: Lisa Burton & her husband Mitchell of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Kyle Burton & Devan Burton

  • Four sisters: Enola Sullivan, Cecil Thompson, Loretta Carrier and Lou Ellen Casey of Jeffersonville, IN
  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters: Arlis Grant, Ray Grant, Forest Lee Grant, Bobby Joe Gran, Edward Grant, May Collins and Geneva Murrell

She was a cook. She had worked at Lindsey Wilson College for 30 plus years.
