Mrs. Evelyn Martin Kerr Finley, Burkesville, KY (1941-2018)

She was a member of Rock Springs Church of Christ and an employee for Lake Cumberland Community Services. She was a native of Monroe County, KY, and a resident of Burkesville, KY, at the time of her death in Pickett County, TN. She was the daughter of the late Jack Ray & Loraine Short Kerr, and the widow of Noel Edward Finley. She was the matriarch of a large highly regarded family. She leaves 24 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Evelyn Martin Kerr Finley, of Burkesville, KY, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Pickett County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Byrdstown, Tennessee, having attained the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 11 days.

The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at 5pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. The family will receive friends after 12pmNoonCT, on Tuesday until the funeral hour.

She was born in Monroe County, KY, on Saturday, February 22, 1941. She was the daughter of Jack Ray & Loraine Short Kerr. She died Friday, February 2, 2018, in Byrdstown, Pickett County, TN, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 11 days.

She was a member of Rock Springs Church of Christ and an employee for Lake Cumberland Community Services. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Edward Finley, whom she wed, Saturday, June 7, 1958, and her siblings, Charlie Ray Kerr, Marilyn Kerr, and Jackie Lee Kerr.

She is survived by:
  • Her three children: Elizabeth Gail Riddle of Bowling Green, KY; Dennis Edward Finley of Bowling Green, KY; and Mitchell Wayne Finley of Louisville, KY

  • Her siblings: Bobby Lee Kerr of Celina, TN; Johnny Clark Kerr of Peytonsburg, KY; James Edward Kerr of Kettle, KY; William Thomas Kerr of Celina, TN; Barbara Ann Branham of Turkey Neck Bend, KY; Elizabeth Ann Kerr of Celina, TN

  • Special niece: Lisa Pickens Lacy of Albany, KY

  • Her 10 grandchildren: Twana, Tiffany, Ashley, Courtney, Allie Jo, Caleb, Anthony, Mason, John Walter, and Hannah

  • Her 10 great-grandchildren: Olivia, Alicyn, Alex, Emily, McKenzie, Connor, Kaydance, Avery, Addie, Evie

  • Her great-great-grandchild: Mia
