Mrs. Regina Mae (Parrish) Jones, 84, Cumberland County, KY (1934-2018)

She was a beloved community leader. She was of Methodist faith, a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church (Cumberland County), a seamstress, a director at Cumberland County Center on Aging, a member of the Burkesville Cemetery Board, the Cumberland County Homemakers, and the Cumberland County Commodities Distribution Team and an active volunteer in Feed My Sheep Food Pantry. She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death in Cumberland County. She was the daughter of the late Beckham & Drusilla (Shaw) Parrish, and the widow of James Marshall Jones. She leaves six direct living descendants.

Mrs. Regina Mae (Parrish) Jones, age 84, of Burkesville, KY passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at The Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.

The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 2, 2018, at 2pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 3pmCT on Thursday, February 1, 2018, until the funeral hour on Friday.



Mrs. Regina Mae (Parrish) Jones, Cumberland Co., KY (1934-2018)


She was born in Cumberland County, KY on Thursday, January 18, 1934. She was the the daughter of Beckham & Drusilla (Shaw) Parrish. She died Monday, January 29, 2018, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 84 years and 11 days.

She was of Methodist faith, a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church, a Seamstress, a director at Cumberland County Center on Aging, a member of the Burkesville Cemetery Board, the Cumberland County Homemakers, and the Cumberland County Commodities Distribution Team and an active volunteer in Feed My Sheep Food Pantry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall Jones, whom she wed Friday, November 13, 1953, and the following:
  • Her son: Barney Jones

  • Her sisters: Juanita Parrish, Maci Petty, Ruby Branham

  • Her son-in-law: Steve Murray

  • Her nephew: Michael Petty

  • Her two daughters: Pam Murray of Glasgow, KY, and Sondra Jones of La Vergne, TN

  • Her two grandchildren: Steven Murray and Casey Jones

  • Her three great-grandchildren: Trevor Murray, Trystan Evers, and Olivia Murray

  • Her nieces: Sharon Bonner of Chesterfield, IN; and Debbie Petty of Jeffersonville, IN

  • Her nephews: Jackie Branham and Jeff Branham, both of Chesterfield, IN

  • Her great-nieces: Angie Branham, Melissa Branham, Becky Harding, April Bonner, Ashley Branham

  • Her great-nephews: Nick Branham and Steven Petty
