Mr. J.V. Lile, Green County, KY (1931-2018)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Liletown United Methodist Church and attended the Trammell Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Lile was a lifelong steward of God's land being an avid hardworking farmer, still maintaining beef cattle until his final day. His wife of 61 years, Roberta Jones Lile, survives.

Mr. J.V. Lile, 86 of Pierce Community of Green County, KY, departed this life on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. J.V. Lile will be conducted at 2pmCT, Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Liletown Cemetery, Liletown Road, Green County, KY. Bro. Joseph Wilcoxson and Bro. Lee Warf will officiate. Visitation is requested from 4pm until 8pmCT, Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: John Shuffett, Seth Covarrubias, Brent Lile, Matt Lile, Bradley Thompson, Greg Eastham, Ricky Young, and Timmy Jeffries

Honorary pallbearers: Grady Thompson, Wayne Matney, Mike Matney, Kayden Young, Kenny Morgan, Stephen Sherman, Robbie Eastham, and Jimmie Wilcoxson,

Mr. J.V. Lile, Green County, KY (1931-2018)

Mr. J.V. Lile of Pierce Community of Green County, was the son of the late Clifford Lile & Ruby Kessler Lile. He was born on Sunday, October 4, 1931 in Green County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the in Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 86 years, three months, and 14 days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Liletown United Methodist Church and attended the Trammell Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Lile was a lifelong steward of God's land being an avid hardworking farmer, still maintaining beef cattle until his final day.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Roberta Jones Lile of Pierce Community, having united in marriage on May 26, 1956, and the following:
  • A daughter: Vanda Jean Lile of Pierce Community, Green County, KY

  • Two granddaughters: Shawna Shuffett and her husband, John of Greensburg, KY; and Megan Parson of Russell Springs, KY

  • Sisters-in-law: Bea Lile of Louisville, KY; Brenda Hancok of Greensburg, KY; and Aleda "Sis" Thompson of Campbellsville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Lile was also preceded in death by a brother: Wade C. Lile.

Memorials are suggested to the Liletown Cemetery Fund, Trammel Creek Baptist Church Youth, or the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
