Sylvia Mae Coffman Tapscott, Casey Co., KY (1946-2018)

She was a native of Harrodsburg, KY, a resident of Springfield, KY at the time of her death there. Her final resting place will be in Middleburg, KY. She was the daughter of the late Sylvester Ray Coffman & Pansy Mae Bouswell Coffman. Her husband, Jason Tapscott, survives. She was the matriarch of a large, respected Central Kentucky family, leaving 55 direct living descendants. She was a C.N.A. during her active career

Sylvia Mae Tapscott age 71, of Springfield, KY, passed away on Friday January 12, 2018 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be held 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Wednesday January 17, 2018, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY. Bro. Jonathan and Bro. Sam Irvin will officiate. Burial will be in the Tapscott Cemetery. Visitation will be 3pm-8pmCT/4pm-9pmET, Tuesday January 16, 2018 at 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY, and after 7amCT/8amET, on Wednesday January 17th, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born in Harrodsburg, Mercer County, KY on November 25, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester Ray Coffman & Pansy Mae Bouswell Coffman. She died Friday, January 12, 2018, in Springfield, Washington County, KY, a the age of 71 years, one month, and 18 days.

Sylvia was a C.N.A.

Survivors include:
  • Her spouse: Jason Tapscott

  • Four daughters: Mary Lou Bewley of Willisburg, KY; Jacqueline Renee Decker of Shepherdsville, KY; Brenda Lee Ross of Danville, KY; and Rebecca Arleen Jacobs of Springfield, KY

  • Three sons: William Edward Tapscott of Willisburg, KY; Robert Jay Tapscott of Campbellsville, KY; and Roy and (Patricia) Hartman of Casey Co., KY

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Thirty two great grandchildren

  • Two sisters: Linda Sue Irvin of Perryville, KY; and Joyce Gayle Caddell of Lancaster, KY
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Kay Poynter, and two brothers, Daniel and Robert Coffman.
