Geneva Salyers Stafford, Liberty, KY (1927-2018)

Geneva was a former clerk at Liberty Five & Dime, Kings Department store, was the owner and operator of Geneva's Quilting and was a member of Brush Creek Christian Church. She was the matriarch of a large, respected Casey County, KY, family, the daughter of the late Vencil & Margie Crockett Salyers and the widow of Cecil E. (Dempsey) Stafford. She leaves 15 direct living descendants.

Geneva Salyers Stafford age 90, of Liberty, KY passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Liberty Care and Rehabilitation Center, Liberty, KY.

Funeral Services will be held 1pmCT/2pmET, Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 231 Lynn Street, Middleburg, KY. Rev. Derrick Terry and Rev. Greg Powell will officiate. Burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery, Casey County, KY. Visitation will be held 11amCT/12pmNoonET, Sunday, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, Middleburg, KY.

She was born in Lebanon, Marion County, KY on November 12, 1927. She was a daughter of the late Vencil & Margie Crockett Salyers. She died Thursday, January 11, 2018, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 90 years, one month, and 30 days.

Geneva was the widow of Cecil E. (Dempsey) Stafford.

Geneva was a former clerk at Liberty Five & Dime, Kings Department store, was the Owner and Operator of Geneva's Quilting and was a member of Brush Creek Christian Church.

Survivors include:
  • Two daughters: Cecilia & (Greg) Neat of Dunnville, KY; and Beverly & (Rabon) Warren of Somerset, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Dustin and (Shannon) Neat, Brad and (Ashley) Neat, David and (Allison) Warren and Allen and (Amy) Warren

  • Nine great grandchildren: Kennedy Neat, Korbin Neat, Blaze Neat and Bella Neat; Ethan Warren, Emma Grace Warren, Laura Warren, Emily Warren and Alison Warren.
Besides her parents and spouse she was preceded in death by eight brothers, Curtis, Clifton, Berkley, Malcom, Oral, Daril, Ansel and Maxey Sherrel Salyers and one sister, Retha Faye Sims.
