Lucian Rodgers, Taylor Co., KY (1932-2017)

He was a retired farmer, worked as Houchens Market Manager for 15 years and also served on the Board of Directors for the Green River Feeder Cattle Association for 18 years. He was the patriarch of a leading Taylor County, KY, family. He was a native of Taylor County, KY, the son of the late Grover Rodgers, Sr. & Clara Shreve Rodgers, and the widower of Wanda Conner Rodgers, his wife of over 40 years. He leaves 12 direct living descendants.

Lucian Rodgers, 85, of Owensboro, KY formerly of Campbellsville, KY, died at 6:30amCT, Friday, December 29, 2017 in Owensboro.5

Funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. James Wedding. Burial will be in Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 8amCT/9amET, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.



Lucian Rodgers, Taylor Co., KY (1932-2017)

Lucian Rodgers, was the son of the late Grover Rodgers, Sr. & Clara Shreve Rodgers. He was born Friday, November 4, 1932 in Taylor County, KY. He died Friday, December 29, 2017 in Owensboro, Daviess County, KY, at the age of 85 years, one month, and 25 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.

Lucian was a retired farmer, worked as Houchens Market Manager for 15 years and also served on the Board of Directors for the Green River Feeder Cattle Association for eighteen years.

He united in marriage to Wanda Conner October 19, 1952 and she preceded him in death May 10, 1993.

He is survived by:
  • Two sons: Bart Rodgers of Summersville, KY; and Tony Rodgers & wife, Ronda of Owensboro, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Blake Rodgers & wife, Cassie, of Nashville, TN; Alec Rodgers & Chrissy Milby of Greensburg, KY; David Rodgers & wife, Kristy; and Amy Rodgers of Owensboro, KY

  • Six great-grandchildren: Ethan Rodgers, Grayson Rodgers, Blaine Rodgers, Judson Rodgers, Callie Rodgers and Annalynn Rodgers

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by four brothers and two sisters: Grover Rodgers, Jr., Maurice Rodgers, Alvin Wilkerson, Ralph Rodgers, Mayme Simpson and Aileen Richerson.
