Jimmie Dale Bennett, 74, Adair County, KY (1943-2017)

He was a member of Egypt Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and member of the Men for Christ. He was retired from IMO Industries. He had served his country in the United States Army and was an avid rabbit hunter. He was the patriarch of a leading Adair County, KY, family. He was the son of the late Frank and Lorena Coomer Bennett. His wife, Brenda Robertson Bennett, survives. He leaves eight direct living descendants.

Jimmie Dale Bennett age 74 years of Columbia, KY died Thursday December 14, 2017 1:06pmCT, as the result of an automobile accident that occurred on Russell Road in Columbia, KY.

Funeral service will be Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Egypt Christian Church, 4855 Knifley Road, Columbia, KY. Clergy officiating will be Bro. Paul Patton and Bro. Hugh Withers. Interment will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery, 87 Morris Chapel Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 3:30pmCT, Saturday, December 16, and after 7amCT Sunday until time for funeral service at the Egypt Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lyndell Bennett and his wife Opal; and one sister Barbara J. Murrell & her late husband Tommie Murrell. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Robertson Bennett, of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Rhonda Loy of Columbia, KY; and Jennifer (Andrew) Richerson of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother: Barry (Marsha) Bennett of Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Peggy Bennett of Columbia, KY; Elaine (Mike) Downs of Columbia, KY; and Patsy (Jimmy) Sapp of Carrolton, KY

  • Special friend: Glenn Stearns of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Makayla McCloud, Madelyn Loy, Gavin Loy and Cole Richerson

  • Two great grandchildren: Bennett McGaha and Ava Alfaro

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
