Betty Chaney, 61, Russell County, KY (1956-2017)

She was a native of Russell Springs, KY, and a resident of Jamestown, KY, at the time of her death in Greensburg, KY. She was a member of a very large, Russell County centered, family. She one of seven children, seven of whom survive,of the late Emma (Bell) & Johnny Appleby. Her husband, Mark Chaney, survives. She leaves eleven direct descendants.

Betty Chaney, 61, of Jamestown, KY passed away on December 12, 2017, at the Green Hill Nursing and Rehab Center in Greensburg, KY.

Funeral Services for Betty Chaney will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, at 1pmCT, Friday December 15, 2017, with Bro. Phillip Miller and Bro. Everett Davis officiating. Friends may visit on Friday after 11amCT, at the funeral home. Burial in the Jamestown City Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY.



Betty Chaney, Russell County, KY (1956-2017)


Betty was born in Russell Springs, KY on February 19, 1956. She was a daughter of the late Emma (Bell) & Johnny Appleby. She died Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at the age of 61 years, nine months, and 23 days.

Betty is survived by:
  • Her husband: Mark Chaney, of Jamestown, KY

  • Two sons: Shannon Troy Johnson, of Russell Springs, KY; and Steven Dale Chaney, of Jamestown, KY

  • One daughter: Rachel Nicole Hash, of Liberty, KY

  • Three brothers: Wendell, Kenny and Keith Appleby, all of Jamestown, KY

  • Four sisters: Patty Appleby, Jay Brumley, Rose Ball and Patsy McGowan all of Jamestown, KY

  • Ten grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Brenda Woolum, Judy Mills and Ruth Appleby; and an infant brother Jimmy Appleby.
