Huston Pendleton, 77, Adair Co., KY (1940-2017)

He was an outstanding member of the community. Mr. Pendleton was a member of the Bearwallow United Methodist Church. He was a retired school bus driver for the Adair Co. Board of Education, owner of Huston Pendleton Lime Service, and a farmer. He the patriarch of a accomplished, highly regarded family. He was the son of the late Finis Ray (Tootie) & Fannie Lea Curry Pendleton. He leaves 11 direct living descendants.

Huston Pendleton age 77 years of the Vester Community of Adair County KY passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 10:06amCT at his home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1pmCT at the Bearwallow United Methodist Church, 6020 Liberty Road, with Bro. Jordan Abell the officiating clergy. Interment in the Bearwallow Cemetery by the church. The family requests visiting after 3:30pmCT Friday, December 8, 2017, and Saturday morning from 6am-9:30amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, or after 10amCT at the church.



Pallbearers: Jeremy Janes, Kenny Hardin, Larry Irvin, Scotty Nuckolls, Caleb Pendleton, and Kenny Wilkerson.

Honorary pallbearers: Bill Bailey, Junior Bailey, Leon Burton, Louis Curry, Ralph Curry, Ranel Curry, Gerald Gilpin, and Marshall Irvin.


Huston Pendleton, Adair Co., KY (1940-2017)

He was born on June 22, 1940 in Adair County, KY, the son of the late Finis Ray "Tootie"& Fannie Lea Curry Pendleton. He died Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at the age of 77 years, five months, and 13 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Faye Gilpin Pendleton on November 14, 2004 and one sister Vivian Joyce Pendleton in 1951.

He is survived by:
  • One daughter: Lucinda (Karl) Moore of Burlington, KY

  • Two sons: John Huston (Lesley) Pendleton of Berkeley Lake, GA; and Stacy (Donna) Pendleton of Louisville, KY

  • Two sisters: Virginia Sue (Junior) Bailey and Dorothy (Bill) Bailey both of Columbia, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Caleb Pendleton, Mary Pendleton, Marlaina and Makenna Pendleton,Tabatha Taylor

  • Three great grandchildren: Anita Moore, Joseph Moore II & Jackson Moore

  • Several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends survive
Mr. Pendleton was a member of the Bearwallow United Methodist Church. He was a retired school bus driver for the Adair Co. Board of Education, owner of Huston Pendleton Lime Service, and a farmer.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Bearwallow Cemetery Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
