Mrs. Joann Abston Buckner, age 70, of Greensburg, KY passed away on Tuesday at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Joann Abston Buckner will be conducted at 1pmCT, Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial in the Macedonia Cemetery, 313 Macedonia Church Road. Greensburg, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Friday until time of the service at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home.

She was the daughter of the late Walter A. Abston and Ruby Ester Spradling Abston, She was born on Tuesday, August 19, 1947 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and departed this life on Tuesday, November 14,2017 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was 70 years, 2 months, and 26 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant for Green Hill Rehab and Care Center.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Tommy Buckner of Greensburg, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter and one son: Rita Noe of Greensburg, KY, and Robert Lee Noe of Bardstown, KY

  • Two brothers: John Abston, Greensburg, KY; and Glen Abston, Lebanon

  • One sister: Patty Pendleton, Washington County, KY

  • Three grandchildren

  • Four great-grandchildren
Mrs. Buckner was also preceded in death by a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations toward burial expenses, which can be made at the funeral home.
