Lester Larkins, Casey County, KY (1933-2017)

Lester retired from General Electric after 23 years of service, and moved to Casey County where he lived the past 22 years. He served our Lord by singing in various gospel groups over a span of 50 years, he was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He was loved and will be missed by many.

Lester Larkins, 83 of Liberty, KY passed away Sunday November 12th, 2017 in his home.

Funeral Services will be held 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Wednesday November 15, 2017 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Springs Cemetery.Visitation will be held 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Tuesday, November 14,, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel and after 9amCT/10amET, Wednesday November 15, 2017 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.



Lester Larkins, Casey County, KY (1933-2017)


He was born November 14, 1933 in Eubank, KY. He was a son of the late Cleo M. and Martha Thompson Larkins. Lester is the late husband of 62 years of Lillian Fay Clements Larkins .

Lester retired from General Electric after 23 years of service, and moved to Casey County where he lived the past 22 years. He served our Lord by singing in various gospel groups over a span of 50 years, he was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He was loved and will be missed by many.

Other survivors, in addition to his wife, include:
  • One daughter: Kathy and (Doug) Frisby of Batavia, OH

  • One son: Daniel and (Marlene) Larkins of Whitley City, KY

  • Five grandsons: Jeremy and (Victoria) Larkins of MI; Jamie and (Sarrennia) Monday of Arizona; Brandon and (Sarah) Monday of Michigan; Tracy Frisby of Kentucky; and Michael Larkins of Ohio

  • One granddaughter: Jennifer Larkins of Ohio

  • Four great granddaughters

  • One great grandson

  • Sister-in-law: Joyce and (Johnny) Maupin of Liberty, KY

  • Brother-in-law: Larry Roger Clements of Indiana
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by six sisters: Martha Richardson, Mary Kelly, Elfreeda Debrode, Gladys Estes, Dorothy Deborde and Betty Seybold; four brothers: Wade Larkins, Cecil Larkins, Orville Larkins and Hershel Larkins and his Father and Mother- in - law: Omer and Anna May Clements.
