Janie M. Cole, 59, Michigan/Adair County, KY (1958-2017)

She was a native and longtime former resident of Adair County, KY. She had built up a lifetime of friends during her time here, especially during her 21 years while employed at Oshkosh B'Gosh. She was a member of a popular and respected Adair County, KY, family. Her husband, Larey Cole, of Bronson, MI survives. She leaves one direct living descendant, a daughter, Emily Brummett Farmer, of Lebanon, KY, as well as many other close kin in Kentucky and Michigan. Her final resting place will be in the her native county, in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Janie M. Cole, 59, of Bronson, Michigan, formerly of Adair County, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 1:57pmET, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 10amCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson officiating. Entombment in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, at a later date. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Tuesday, November 14, 2017.



Janie M. Cole, 59, Michigan/Adair County, KY native (1958-2017)


She was born September 3, 1958, in Adair County, KY. She died Thursday, November 9, 2017, in Fort Wayne, Allen County, IN, at the age of 59 years, two months, and six days.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Burton Simpson; four brothers, Marshall, Carl Sherman and L. C. Simpson and Jr. Lumpkin; three sisters; Clemadine Gregory, Faye Wray and Connie Blankenship; her father-in-law, Larey Cole, Sr.; and her God-father, Kendall Harvey.

She was employed at Osh Kosh B'Gosh for 21 years.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Larey Cole of Bronson, Michigan

  • One daughter: Emily Brummett Farmer of Lebanon, KY

  • One brother: James (Debbie) Dillon of Bowling Green, KY

  • Her mother-in-law: Kay (Jim) Russell of Michigan

  • Four sisters-in-law: Connie Lumpkin of Campbellsville, KY; and Kathy (Joe) Curto, Kim (Dan) Hillman, and Patti (Tracey) Ackley all of Michigan

  • A special niece - Ashley Simpson of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
