He made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a Green County School bus driver, a minister, an electrician and carpenter. His wife, Carolyn Jane Akin Despain, survives. He leaves three direct living descendants.

James William Despain departed this life Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

In honoring the wishes of Mr. Despain, cremation was chosen. There will be no visitation or funeral service.



James William Despain, Green County, KY (1941-2017)


James William Despain was born April 24, 1941 in Green County, KY. He departed this life Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY, having attained the age of 76 years, six months and 11 days.

He made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a Green County School Bus Driver, a minister, an electrician and carpenter.

He is survived by:
  • His wife: Carolyn Jane Akin Despain

  • Three sons: Matt Despain of Campbellsville, KY; John Paul Despain of Greensburg, KY; and Bill Despain of Tennessee.
