Dexter Dewey Berndt, 45, of Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at the University of KY Hospital, Lexington, KY.

Funeral services are at 6pmCT/7pmET, Monday, November 6, 2017 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Phillip Patton officiating. Cremation rites will follow the service. Visitation will be held 4pm-6pmCT/5pm-7pmET, at the funeral home.

Born May 6, 1972, in South Williamson, Pike County, KY. He was the son of Betty Gillispie Preece & the late George Preece. He died Friday, November 3, 2017, at the UK Hospital, Lexington, KY, at the age of 45 years, six months. and 28 days.

Dexter was a heavy equipment operator and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include:
  • His mother: Betty Preece of Kermit, WV

  • His fiance: Misty Cain of Liberty, KY

  • Three sisters: Vivian Ross of Inez, KY, Deirdre Fletcher of Liberty, KY; and Sonya Hurley of Kermit, WV

  • And a host of friends
