Charles Estes (Charlie) McKinley, Taylor Co., KY (1929-2017)

He professed his faith in Christ in 1939 and became a faithful member of Campbellsville Christian Church where he was a former Elder. He was a veteran having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was a retired salesman for Campbellsville Industries and former plant manager at Parker Kalon. He enjoyed golfing and watching all kinds of sports, especially the Kentucky Wildcats. He was the son of the late Homer McKinley & Lucille Herriford McKinley. He was the widower of Sue Skaggs McKinley, his wife of 52 years. He leaves 14 direct living descendants.

Charles Estes (Charlie) McKinley, 88, of Campbellsville, KY died at 3:21 A.M., Friday, October 27, 2017 in Bowling Green, KY.

Funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Monday, October 30, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Dr. Paul Patton. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, 200 Block of W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Charles Estes (Charlie) McKinley was the son of the late Homer McKinley & Lucille Herriford McKinley. He was born October 16, 1929 in Taylor County, KY. He died Friday, October 27, 2017 in Bowling Green, Warren County, KY, at the age of 88 years, 11 days. He professed his faith in Christ in 1939 and became a faithful member of Campbellsville Christian Church where he was a former Elder.

He was a veteran having served his country honorably in the United States Navy.

He was a retired salesman for Campbellsville Industries and former plant manager at Parker Kalon.

He enjoyed golfing and watching all kinds of sports, especially the Kentucky Wildcats.

He united in marriage to Sue Skaggs June 4, 1952 and she preceded him in death August 31, 2004.

He is survived by:
  • One daughter and two sons: Janie Giles and husband, Jerry of Bowling Green, KY; Jeff McKinley and wife, Jane of Ooltewah, TN; and Mike McKinley of Rochester, MN

  • Four grandchildren: Christopher Ellis and wife, Libby of Bowling Green, KY; Sarah Adcox of Ooltewah, TN,; Jennifer Romans and husband, Matthew of Ringgold, GA; and Rosalind McKinley of Rochester, MN

  • Seven great-grandchildren

  • One brother-in-law: Richard McMahan of Campbellsville, KY

  • One sister-in-law, Sally Skaggs Johnson of Louisville; a very dear friend, Mary Peterson and her daughters, Charlotte Williams, Fran Spaulding and Renee Branham and their families;

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relative and friends
He was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita McMahan.
