Dollie Pauline Grant, 89, Glensfork, Adair Co., KY (1928-2017)

She attended Church of the Nazarene at Glensfork for 50 plus years, had lots of friends, was a homemaker and loved to garden and will be sadly missed. She was the daughter of the late Ivy & Polly Bunch Cape, and the widow of Oscar Grant, her husband of 63 years. She lives a large, highly regarded family to carry on her legacy.

Dollie Pauline Grant age 89 years of the Glensfork community passed into her eternal life on Friday October 20, 2017 at 8amCT, at Signature Health at Summit Manor, Columbia, KY, leaving her children, friends and relatives behind.

Funeral service Monday, October 23, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ralph Hadley, Bro. Ricky Shelton and Craig Trumbo officiating. Interment will be in Grant Cemetery at Glensfork. Visitation after 4pmCT, Sunday, October 22, 2017. Pallbearers: Jimmy Bell, Austin Coomer, Mason Coomer, Brandon Grant, Steven Coomer and Anthony Hadley.

She was born on August 24, 1928 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Ivy & Polly Bunch Cape of Adair, KY. She died Friday, october 20, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 89 years, one month, and 26 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Oscar Grant. on November 15, 2005; five brothers and two sisters Chester, Johnny, Ronald, Garvis and Joe Tom Cape, Nina Pierce and Lois Polston. She is survived by:
  • Four daughters: Loretta (Billy) Grant of Glensfork, KY; Anna Rose Wells of Lancaster, KY; Janice (Dannie) Kelley of Taylor County, KY; Nadine (Travis) Coomer of Fairplay, KY

  • Two sons: Daryl (Pam) Grant of Glensfork, KY; and Harold (Sue) Grant of Burbank, IL

  • Three sisters-in-laws: Evelyn Cape, Delpha Grant and Claris Lewis

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Four step-grandchildren

  • Several great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends
