Dorothy Jean Neal, 83, Campbellsville, KY (1934-2017)

She worked at ABC Daycare for 18 years, prior to her retirement; there she loved being with children. She was a member of Elkhorn Tabernacle. She was a native of Maury County, TN, a resident of Taylor County, KY, at the time of her death in Metcalfe County, KY. She leaves eight direct living descendants, including a daughter in Columbia, KY; and a son of Campbellsville, KY.

Dorothy Jean Neal, 83, Campbellsville, KY, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Edmonton, KY after an extended illness.

Funeral services for Dorothy Neal will be held at 12pmCT/1pmET, Friday, October 20, 2017 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY with Bro. Charles Russell Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. The family requests visitation 4pm-7pmET/5pm-8pmET, Thursday, October 19, 2017, at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.



Dorothy Jean Neal, 83, Campbellsville, KY (1934-2017)


Dorothy Neal was born in Maury County, TN on June 14, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Robert Jefferson & Lula Staggs Young. She died Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, at the age of 83 years, four months and four days of age, .

Also preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her great grandchild, Bentley Branham, as well as her siblings, Ed Young, Garfield Young, Katie Mealer and Jenny Alexander.

Prior to her retirement she worked at ABC Daycare for 18 years where she loved being with children. She was a member of Elkhorn Tabernacle.

She is survived by:
  • Her husband: Allen (Bob) Neal of Campbellsville, KY

  • A daughter: Cindy Branham of Columbia, KY

  • A son: Ken Neal and his wife Melinda of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Wesley Branham, Justin Branham, Ivy Paige Neal and Lily May Neal

  • Two great grandchildren: Aaron Branham and Jayden Branham
