Deward Dean Davis, Casey County, KY (1933-2017)

Davis was a retired truck driver, retired factory worker, and a member of the New Testament Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing checkers. He was a native of Casey County, KY and was a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Coy Henson Davis & Annie Mae Overstreet Davis. He was the widower of Freda Jane Bolt Davis. He leaves 26 direct living descendants.

Deward Dean Davis, 84 of Liberty, KY, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at the Liberty Care Center, Liberty, KY.

There will be a Celebration of Life service at 1pmCT/2pmET, on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the New Testament Baptist Church, 707 Hustonville Street, Liberty, KY, with Rev. George Pierce officiating. Visitation will be held after 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, at the Church on Saturday. Burial will be held privately at the Cold Springs Cemetery.

Born May 8, 1933, in Casey Co., KY, he was a son of the late Coy Henson Davis & Annie Mae Overstreet Davis. He died Sunday, October 15, 2017, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 84 years, five months, and seven days.

Mr. Davis was a retired truck driver, retired factory worker, and a member of the New Testament Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing Checkers.

Survivors include:
  • His son: Ronnie (and Sally) Davis of Liberty, KY

  • Daughters: Terri (and Bailey) Parsons of Thomasville, NC; Sherrie (and Danny) McNeely of Austin, IN; and Angela (and Mark) Nunn of Trinity, NC

  • Brother: Larry Davis of Maysville, KY

  • Sisters: Mildred Cochran of Liberty, KY; Faye Woodrum of Cincinnati, Ohio; Carol Vaughn of Liberty, KY; and Teresa Combs of Cincinnati, Ohio

  • Eight grandchildren

  • Fourteen great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Jane Bolt Davis, who passed away on January 28, 2016 and brothers, Calvert and Vernon Davis.
