Jean Allen Taylor Carruth, 80, Green Co., KY native (1936-2017)

She was a Executive Secretary with Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. in New York and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and was a member of the Women's Democrat Club.

Mrs. Jean Allen Taylor Carruth of Bowling Green, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, August 28, 2017. She was 80 years of age.

There will be a Funeral Mass held at 12pmCT, Friday, September 1, 2017 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 434 Church Ave, Bowling Green, KY. Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in Bowling Green in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation is requested after 10amCT, Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, until time of the Funeral Mass.

Graveside services for Mrs. Jean Allen Taylor Carruth will be held at 3:30pmCT, Friday September 1, 2017 at the Greensburg Cemetery on N. Main Street, Greensburg, KY. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church immediately following burial.


Jean was the daughter of the late Gabriel Buckner Taylor and Isobel Jean Kistler Taylor. She was born on December 12, 1936 in Green County and departed this life on Monday, August 28, 2017.

She was a Executive Secretary with Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. in New York and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and was a member of the Women's Democrat Club.

She united in marriage to Farrar "Ark" Carruth who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Isabelle Jean and Brack Flanagan; two sons and daughters-in-law: Gabriel Barton and Nancy Carruth, and Joseph Anthony and Lindy Carruth; seven grandchildren: Joseph Anthony Carruth, II, Matthew Carruth, Kaylen Rollins, Taylor Carruth, Gabriel Carruth, Michael Flanagan and his wife, Sarajane, and Lauren Kelly Phelps and her husband, Will; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Carruth was also preceded in death by half-sisters: Lillian Crawford and Kathleen Kerns.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, St. Joseph Conference.
