Juanita Ruth Back Tweedy, 95, Ribbon, Russell Co., KY, native (1922-2017)

She was a native of Ribbon, Russell County, KY, a resident of Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, MI at the time of her death, and her final resting place will be in Adair County, KY. She married Marvin Tweedy in 1939 and celebrated 54 years before his passing in 1993. She was a member and deacon of Journey of Faith (Memorial Christian) for over 60 years. She worked for Argus Camera and retired from UMI. Juanita was a big U of M football fan, loved to garden, make photo albums, and cooked fabulous corn and pies.

Juanita Ruth Back Tweedy, age 95, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, the matriarch of her family, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017.

Funeral service at 1pmCT, Friday, September 1, 2017 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Larry Wisdom the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be Friday, September 1, 2017 after 10amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



Juanita Ruth Back Tweedy, Adair Co., KY/Russell Co., KY native

Born July 5, 1922 in Ribbon, Russell County, KY she was the daughter of Ruth Back. She died Sunday, August 27, 2017, in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, MI, at the age of 95 years, one month, and 22 days. She married Marvin Tweedy in 1939 and celebrated 54 years before his passing in 1993. She was a member and deacon of Journey of Faith (Memorial Christian) for over 60 years. She is survived by:
  • An aunt: Geneva Ballard

  • Sister-in-law: Christine Burris

  • And many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews and friends and relatives in Adair County, KY
