Gerald Lynn Rice, 74, Taylor County, KY (1942-2017)

He attended and was a deacon at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Taylor County, KY. Gerald was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He farmed his entire life, and was also a talented and skilled craftsman. He was the son of the late Benjamin C & Katherine Shive Rice. His wife, Linda Colvin Rice, survives. He leaves seven direct living descendants.

Gerald Lynn Rice, 74, departed this life Sunday, August 20, 2017, surrounded by his family.

The funeral service for Gerald Lynn Rice was at 10amCT/11amET, Parrott Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Visitation was 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 and after 6amCT/7amET, Wednesday at Parrott Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville, KY. Interment is in Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Taylor County, KY. Rev. Jamie Bennett officiated.



Pallbearers: Kevin Roberts, Bobby Roberts, Cleve Rice, Woody Weatherford, J.T. Weatherford, and Tom Haines.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jim Milby, Richard Corbin, Raymond Rucker, Keith Richerson, and Jim Hatcher

Gerald Lynn Rice was born December 10, 1942 in Taylor County, KY. He was the son of the late Benjamin C & Katherine Shive Rice. He departed this life Sunday, August 20, 2017 surrounded by his family, having attained the age of seventy-four years, eight months and ten days.

He attended and was a deacon at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Taylor County, KY. Gerald was a United States Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He farmed his entire life, and was also a talented and skilled craftsman.

He is survived by his wife Linda Colvin Rice, and the following:
  • One son and daughter-in-law: Shane & Crystal Rice of Waleska, GA

  • One daughter and son-in-law: Tiffany & Scott Robinson of Elizabethtown, KY

  • Grandchildren: Zachery, Ben, Drew, Nick and Emmee

  • One sister: Linda Lou Gabehart of Campbellsville, KY

  • One sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Carolyn and Bobby Roberts of Campbellsville, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. These can be made at the funeral home.
