Mr. Jerry Lee Armstrong, Adair County, KY (1952-2017)

Mr. Armstrong had served in the US Army and was a Vietnam veteran and will be accorded full military honors at committal rites in Mill Springs National Cemetery. He was an automobile mechanic in Knoxville, TN, for several years. He was a native of Tazewell County, VA, and a resident of Adair County, KY, at the time of his death here. He leaves one direct living descendant, his son, Troy Armstrong.

Jerry Lee Armstrong, 64, of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at his home.

Graveside service Friday, August 11, 2017 at 1:30pmCT/2:30pmETm at the Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 W KY 80, Nancy, KY. Full military honors will be presented by the Somerset VFW Post 38, Somerset, KY. Burial in the Mill Springs National Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 8:30amCT, on Friday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.



Mr. Jerry Lee Armstrong, Adair County, KY (1952-2017)

He was born December 24, 1952 in Pocahontas, Tazewell County, VA. He was the son of the late Bernard Lewis & Ruth Bowling Armstrong. He died Wednesday, August 9, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 64 years, seven months, and 16 days.<

He is survived by:
  • One son: Troy Armstrong of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Bobby Armstrong of Yalaha, FL; and Tom Armstrong, Princeton, WV

  • Two sisters: Brenda Altamirano of Apache Junction, AZ; and Debbie Sandstrum of Fredericksburg, Virginia

  • Former mother-in-law: Mildred Hamlett of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews
Mr. Armstrong had served in the US Army and was a Vietnam veteran and was an automobile mechanic in Knoxville, TN, for several years.
