Personal Commentary

The accidental destruction of the main portion of the Veterans Memorial was a tremendous blow for us all.

For those who have worked hard to maintain it while in the original location at the former Fair Ground, we thank you.

For the removal and replacement, we are proud this is being accomplished. The loss of the original is heartbreaking.

Unlike an ancient monument, it can be replaced.

It is my hope these additional names will now be added to honor all those who have had the distinction of calling Adair County "Home" at any time of their lives, from birth through service.

Jim is a diligent researcher and his information is accurate and pertinent. Please, let these names, and any others that may come later, be added. --Mike Watson
