Bruce A. Ballenger, of Russell Springs, KY, passed away on Sunday July 31, 2017, at the VA Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was 71 years old.

Funeral Services for Bruce Ballenger will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 North Main St., Jamestown, KY, on Friday, August 4, 2017, at 2pmCT, with Bro. Bobby Conner officiating. Friends may visit on Friday after 11amCT at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the service in the Jamestown City Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, with Military Honors by RC Honor Squad.



Bruce A. Ballenger, 71, Russell Springs, KY (1945-2017)

Bruce was born in Jamestown, Russell County, KY on October 16, 1945. He was a son of the late Lela (Grider) & Reather Ballenger. He died Sunday, July 31, 2017, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 71 years, nine months, and 15 days.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a farmer.

Bruce is survived by
  • His son Adrian Allen Ballenger, of California

  • His step-son Gregory Papke, of California

  • His daughter Dawn Michelle Ballenger, of California

  • Three brothers: Bradford Ballenger, of FL, Ben David Ballenger, of Washington ST, and Barry Ballenger, of Dunnville, KY

  • Three sisters: Bernice Brown, of Russell Springs, KY, Brenda Sue Stephenson, of TX, and Bonnie Lake of Whitley City, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

He is preceded in death by two sisters, Billy Jo Hadley, and Rebecca Jane Spears, and one brother, Boyd Wayne Ballenger.
