He was a retired maintenance worker and a member of the Salem United Baptist Church. He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Herbert & Elva Meece Wilson. He leaves four direct living descendants.

Wilkie Lee Wilson, 76, of Jamestown, Ky, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home, Jamestown.

Funeral service for Mr. Wilkie Lee Wilson will be 1pmCT, Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. David Coffey officiating. Visitation will be 10:30am-1pmCT, Saturday, July 22, 2017. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY.



Wilkie Lee Wilson, Russell County, KY (1940-2017)


He was born August 6, 1940, in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Herbert & Elva Meece Wilson. He died Wednesday, July 19, 2017, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 13 days.

Wilkie was a retired maintenance worker and a member of the Salem United Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Wilkie was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Martin, Viola Weddle, and Edna Weddle; and two brothers, Louis and Harold Wilson.

Survivors:
  • One daughter: Regina (Mark) McFarland, Jamestown, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Lindsey McFarland, Conway, SC; and Lucas McFarland, Jamestown, KY

  • One great-grandchild: Liam McFarland, Jamestown, KY

  • Two brothers: Phillip Wilson, Russell Springs, KY; and James Wilson, Jamestown, KY

  • One sister: Maretha Clayton, Waddy, KY
