Mrs. Marlene Joy Pritchard, Greensburg, KY/Chicago, IL native (1943-2017)

She was a former advertising agent for the Chicago Sun-Times and the Central Kentucky News Journal. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. Although she didn't have natural children, she cared for, loved, and raised several of her brothers and sisters-in-law. Mrs. Pritchard shared over forty years of marriage with Samuel Dean Pritchard until his death in 2006.

Mrs. Marlene Joy Pritchard, Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Jane Todd Hospital, Greensburg KY.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Pritchard on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10amCT/11amET, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Roger Robertson will be officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband in the Green River Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, 3441 Old Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 16, after 1pmCT/2pmET.

Mrs. Marlene Joy Pritchard of Greensburg, KY, was born September 14, in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Jack & Ethel (Ourach) Magdal. She departed this life on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Jane Todd Hospital, Greensburg, Green County, KY, at the age of 73 years, nine months, and one day of age. She was a former advertising agent for the Chicago Sun-Times and the Central Kentucky News Journal. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church. Although she didn't have natural children, she cared for, loved, and raised several of her brothers and sisters-in-law. Mrs. Pritchard shared over forty years of marriage with Samuel Dean Pritchard until his death in 2006.

She leaves to mourn her passing:
  • One brother: Sam Magdal of Chicago,

  • Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Linda Watson, Robert Pritchard, Shirley Maddox and husband Danny, Steve Pritchard, Barbara "Bobbi" Hall and husband Tommy, Sandie Pritchard, and Floyd Pritchard, all of Bardstown, KY; Brenda Bunch of Lebanon, KY; and Betty Jackson and husband Jessie of Shepherdsville, KY

  • A close friend: Virginia Miller of Greensburg, KY

  • Her caretakers: Linda Peach and James Powell, both of Greensburg, KY
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Magdal, and two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Samuel Pritchard, James Pritchard, Wilma Ingram, and Alice Mae Green.

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
