Chris Grant, 38, Adair County, KY (1979-2017)

He was a mechanic, artist, potter, heavy equipment operator and carpenter. He was a member of a large, respected South Adair Co., KY family. He was the son of Randy & Paula Burbridge Grant, who survive, as does the mother of his children, Keisha Downey. He leaves two direct living descendants, twin sons, Case Lane Grant and Colton Remington Grant

Chris Grant, 38, of Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 3:23pmET, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY, from injuries received in automobile accident on June 6, 2017 in Taylor County.

Graveside service will be Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10amCT, in the McClister Cemetery, 4138 Fairplay Road, Fairplay, KY, with Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation. Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 26, 1979, in Adair County, KY. He is the son of Randy & Paula Burbridge Grant, who survive. He died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 38 years, 12 days.

He was a mechanic, artist, potter, heavy equipment operator and carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lawrence "Dick" Grant and maternal grandparents, Paul and Mary Belle Burbridge and a half-brother, Stewart Randal Grant, Jr.

Survivors include:
  • His parents: Randy & Paula Burbridge Grant of Columbia, KY

  • His twin sons: Case Lane Grant and Colton Remington Grant of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Ashley Dawn Grant of Columbia, KY

  • One half-sister: Amy Grant Whitaker of Somerset, KY

  • Paternal grandmother: Rachel Grant of Columbia, KY

  • Two aunts: Sissy (Tilford) Loy and Beverly England

  • Three uncles: Odell Tabor and David Lynn Grant, Tilford (Rita) Hoover

  • The mother of his sons: Keisha Downey

  • Several other relatives and friends
