Cornelia Oliver Pogue age 88 of Madisonville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Hillside Center in Madisonville.

Funeral services will be held at 12pmNoonCT, on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Cedar Flat Cemetery in Metcalfe County, KY. Visitation will be after 9amCT, Saturday at the funeral home.



Cornelia Olive Pogue, 88, Metcalfe Co., KY (1928-2017)


Born October 3, 2017, in Scottsville, Allen County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Oliver. She died Tuesday, June 6, 2107, in Madisonville, Hopkins County, KY, at the age of 88 years, eight months, and three days.

She was a homemaker and member of the Latter Day Saints Church.

She is survived by:
  • A son Lawrence Smith of Scottsburg, IN

  • Three daughters: Linda West of Manitou Springs, CO; Nancy Hoffman of Madisonville, KY; and Susan Lewis of Nortinville, KY

  • Four step children: Jimmy and Danny Smith of Madisonville, KY; Linda Shive of Summer Shade, KY; and Connie Paull of Edmonton, KY
  • One brother: Gillis Oliver of Scottsville, KY

  • Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Shelby Pogue. Three sons; Charlie Owens, Roy Owens and Steve Smith. One daughter Edith Ogle.
