Al Lackey, 78, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 7:50amET, Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in Campbellsville.

Funeral service is 10amCT/11amET, Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Brad Lackey. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation is 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Friday, June 9, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

He was the son of the late Charlie B. Lackey & Nellie Francis Gibbons Lackey. He was born March 13, 1939, in Cumberland County, KY. He died Wednesday, June 7, 2017, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 78 years, two months, and 25 days.

He professed faith in Christ and attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Al was a retired, self-employed electrical contractor.

He united in marriage to Shirley Mae Skaggs January 17, 1961 and she preceded him in death October 6, 2009.

He is survived by:
  • One son and two daughters: Brad Lackey and wife, Connie of Campbellsville, KY; Sherry Edwards and husband, Ricky of Oklahoma City, OK; and Desiree Lackey of Oklahoma

  • Six grandchildren: B. J. Lackey, Keith Lackey, Cody Edwards, Mallory Edwards, Tiffany Edwards and Jeremy Edwards

  • Two great-grandchildren: Alexia Lackey and Suri Saphira

  • Two brothers and one sister: Lewis Lackey of Montgomery, IL, and Hubert Lackey of Aurora, IL; and Sue O'Banion of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • and many other relatives and friends
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: John Lackey, Gil Lackey, Charlie Lackey, Tommy Lackey, Gladys Tate and Rosie Thompson.
