She was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Doris (Wethington) & Cleo Patton. She leaves 19 direct living descendants. Her final resting place will be in Free Union Cemetery in Adair County, near Sano, KY

Bonita F. Meeks, 72, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Wednesday, June 7th at the Russell County Hospital.

Funeral services for Bonita F. Meeks will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street Jamestown, KY on Saturday June 10, 2017 1:30pmCT with Bro. Jeff Meeks officiating. Friends may visit after 5pmCT, Friday, June 9, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Free Union Cemetery, 4642 Sano Road, Columbia, KY.

Bonita was born in Liberty, Casey County, KY on August 27, 1944. She was a daughter of the late Doris (Wethington) & Cleo Patton. She died in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at the age of 72 years, nine months, and 11 days.

Bonita is survived by:
  • Two sons: James (Bess) Meeks, of Liberty, KY; and Eugene (Becky) Meeks, of Clear Springs, IN

  • One daughter: Judy (Derrek) Vaughan, of Jamestown, KY

  • Four brothers: Roland, Joe, Randy, and Ricky

  • Four sisters: Regina, Judy, Gail, and Marketta

  • Seven grandchildren: Billie Jo Brown, Chasity Etherington, Dana Bryant, Crystal Taylor, Tiffany Meeks, Macayla Vaughan and Alex Popplewell

  • Nine great grandchildren: Destiny Kinnett, Bralyn and Brayden Long, Jonathan and Spencer Gillock, Morgan Taylor, Reese Etherington, Brooklyn Brown and Kali Darnell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Gail Bryant, and two brothers Robert C. and Roger L. Patton.
