She was the daughter of the late Alex Zander (Elic) Burris and Delzie Parson Burris. She leaves seven direct living descendants. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.

Shirley Ann Smith, 76, departed this life Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service will be at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, at 12pmNoonCT, Wednesday, May 31, 2017, with Bro. Garnett Wayne Davis and Bro. Travis Keltner the officiating clergy. Interment will be in the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.



Pallbearers: Danny Burriss, Randy Davenport, Garnett Wayne Davis, Robbie Beard, Dale Houk, and Brian Burriss

Shirley Ann Smith was born May 30, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Alex Zander (Elic) Burris and Delzie Parson Burris. She departed this life Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the the age of 76 years, 11 months and 29 days.

Shirley had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.

Besides her parents she is preceded in death by one son: Richard "Bubba" Smith, five brothers and two sisters: Roy, A.Z., Eunie, Rue, Bill, Norene and Joyce Jean.

She is survived by:
  • Her daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Alan Montgomery of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother: Rollin Burriss, Greensburg, KY

  • One sister: Mary Elizabeth Burris of Greensburg, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Kimberly Dawn Harris and her husband Marcus and Jacqueline Nichole Montgomery of Indiana

  • Fve great grandchildren: Brooklynn, Rayvenn and Mayson Harris, Bryan Montgomery and Josiah Nance

  • Plus a host of other relatives and friends

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations for the funeral expenses. These can be made at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
