Mary Glenabelle Meeks McDonald of Liberty, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Casey County Hospital in Liberty. She was 95.

The funeral service will be held at 12pmNoonCT/1pmET on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Thad Eubank, Bro. Joe Hill and Bro. Arnold Larkin officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Hill Cemetery, Casey County, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT/5pm-9pmET, Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the funeral home.

Born March 22, 1922 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Barney and Alta Jane Meeks. She died Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the age of 95 years, one month, and 15 days.

She was the widow of James Clyde McDonald, whom she married on January 30, 1937. She became a member of the Athens Church of Christ at a very young age. She was a loving mother to all that knew her.

She is survived by:
  • Four sons: J.D. (Carolyn) McDonald of Woodbury, TN; and Dale (Wanda) McDonald, Larry (Helen) McDonald and Gary McDonald, all of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Barbara (Oris) Barlow of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Vivian McQueary of Liberty, KY

  • One brother: Paul (Judy) Meeks of Middleburg, KY

  • Two sisters: Lafern Fredrick of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Betty Meeks of Redding, Ohio

  • Twenty-one grandchildren

  • Twenty-seven great-grandchildren

  • And 15 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie A. McDonald; one brother, Phillip Meeks; four sisters, Freida Meeks, Mable Meeks, Nova Brate and Aletha Matthews; one grandson, Harold McQueary; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Thomas and Ella Grayson; and a son-in-law Junior McQueary.
