Albert Parent, 92, Green Co., KY/Maine native (1924-2017)

He was a native of Aroostook County, ME, and a resident of Green County, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Patrick Parent and Odile Ayotte Parent, and the widower of Constance Parent. He leaves 22 direct living descendants. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Greensburg, KY. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II. His final resting place will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery

Mr. Albert Parent, 92, Summersville, KY, departed this life Sunday, April 30, 2017 at his home in Summersville, KY.

The Memorial Service for Mr. Albert Parent will be at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 110 Industrial Road, Greensburg, KY, at 2pmCT, Monday, May 8, 2017. Visitation will be after 1pmCT, Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Father Nick Brown will be the officiant. Burial will be in Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 37 Lombard Road, Caribou, ME.



Mr. Albert Parent, 92, Green County, KY (1924-2017)


Mr. Albert Parent was born Thursday, August 23, 1924 in Grand isle, Aroostook County, Maine. He was the son of the late Patrick Parent and Odile Ayotte Parent. He died Sunday, April 30, 2017 at his home in Summersville, Green County, KY, at the age of 92 years, eight months and seven days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Greensburg, KY.

He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Tobin Parent; his son, Brian Parent; and several siblings.

He is survived by:
  • Two sons and two daughters: Richard Parent of New Hartford, NY; Linda Martel of Summersville, KY; Gerry Parent of Louisville, KY; and Carole Sharkey of Yarmouth, ME

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Nine great grandchildren

  • two special caregivers: Cheryl Miller of Columbia, KY; and Mary Huckaby of Elkhorn, KY

The Family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to Hosparus of Green River. These can be made at the church or at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
