Kenneth "Possum" Mikel of Campbellsville, KY, was the son of the late Rube Mikel and Catherine Bryant Mikel. He was born May 30, 1952. He died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 64 years, 10 months, and 26 days.

He united in marriage to Bonnie Mikel Milby March 8, 1982 and she preceded him in death May 7, 2002. He later united in marriage to Nina Auberry.

Besides his wife, Nina Mikel of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by:
  • Two step-daughters: Quinn Tina DeSpain and husband, Doug of Greensburg, KY; and Ashley Auberry of Campbellsville, KY

  • Three step-grandchildren: Quindolyn Judd and Jacob DeSpain of Greensburg, KY; and Aiden Auberry of Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother and one sister: Wayne Mikel and Dora Mikel of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one brother and six sisters, Guy Douglas Mikel, Mary Frances Mikel, Barbara Jean Mikel, Rena Murphy, Annette Smothers, Shirley Wise and Betty Compton.
