Paul Dexter Beard, 71, Taylor Co., KY (1946-2017)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Paul served his country honorably in the United States Army and in the Army Reserve for over 25 years. He was an electrician for 50 plus years having retired from Thermal Equipment and Sales. Paul was a member of the Taylor County Cattleman's Association, the American Legion and the Green River Bee Keepers. He was the son of the late Rev. Shiley Franklin Beard & Eva Jewell Sexton Beard. His wife of 49 years, Ann Allen Beard, survives. He leaves three direct living descendants.

Paul Dexter Beard of Campbellsville, son of the late Rev. Shiley Franklin Beard and Eva Jewell Sexton Beard, 71, Campbellsville, KY, died at 12pmNoonCT, Monday, April 24, 2017 in Campbellsville.

The funeral services will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Friday, April 28, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Paul J. Dicken and Bro. Anthony Harris. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY, with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Paul Dexter Beard of Campbellsville, was the son of the late Rev. Shiley Franklin Beard & Eva Jewell Sexton Beard. He was born January 12, 1946, in Taylor County, KY. He died at Monday, April 24, 2017 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 71 years, three months, and 12 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Paul served his country honorably in the United States Army and in the Army Reserve for over twenty-five years. He was an electrician for fifty plus years having retired from Thermal Equipment and Sales. Paul was a member of the Taylor County Cattleman's Association, the American Legion and the Green River Bee Keepers.

Paul united in marriage to Ann Allen February 17, 1968.

Besides his wife, Ann Allen Beard of Campbellsville, KY, he is survived by:
  • One son and one daughter: Paula Rose and husband, Jay of Adair County, KY; and Damon Beard and Tammy Johnson of Campbellsville, KY

  • One granddaughter: Mia Harris of Richmond, KY

  • One sister: Phyllis Milby and husband, Tom of Campbellsville, KY

  • Brother-in-law: John Cable and wife, Debbie of Bowling Green, KY

  • Sisters-in-law: Sue Nicholson of Partlow, VA; Edie Strittmatter of Richland Hills, TX; and Nora Elza of Richmond, IN

  • Special niece: Delayna Moore of Danville, IN

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters: Patricia Steward and Peggy Cable.
