Russell Roach, 87, Edmonton, KY (1930-2017)

He was a member of a prominent family. He was a lifelong farmer and faithful member of the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Olie Lee & Marene Wilson Roach. He was the widower of Zelma Sexton Roach, his wife of 52 years. His wife of 10 years, Patsy Harper Roach, survives. He leaves 10 direct and one step- living descendants. His final resting place will be in Adair County in the Bragg Family Cemetery

Russell Roach, age 87 of Edmonton, KY passed from this life on April 22, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT, Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Bragg Cemetery, Bragg Family Cemetery, 100 Bragg Cemetery Road, in Western Adair Co, KY. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pmCT, Monday, April 24, 2017, and after 9amCT, Tuesday at the funeral home.



Russell Roach, 87, Edmonton, KY (1930-2017)


Russell Roach, was the son of the late Olie Lee & Marene Wilson Roach. He was born March 10, 1930. He died April 22, 2017, at the age of 87 years, one month, and 12 days.

He was a lifelong farmer and faithful member of the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Patsy Harper, Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Lola (Frank) Gibson of Edmonton, KY, and Doris (Phil) Ecton of Carlisle, KY

  • Two brothers: Paul and Robert (Mildred) Roach of Edmonton, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Lisa (Dale) Upchurch and Stevie (Wendy) Gibson of Edmonton, KY; Chris (Jessica) Ecton, Pittsburgh, PA; Mike (Laura) Ecton and Rachel Ecton of Lexington, KY

  • Five great-grandchildren: Tyler and Michael Phelps, and Whitley and Reagan Gibson of Edmonton, KY; and Charlie Ecton of Lexington, KY

  • A special step-son and daughter-in-law: Gary and Debbie Harper of Edmonton, KY

  • A number of nieces and nephews

  • And other extended family members and friends
He was preceded in death by the Mother of his children and wife of 52 years, Zelma Sexton Roach; three brothers - Truman, John Ben and Herbert Maxie Roach; and three sisters - Creo Dickson, Maxine Bragg and Bertha Marie Roach.
