Mrs. Helen Rosson Mayne, Slidell, LA/Adair County, KY, native - (d. 12 Apr 2017)

She and her husband, Larry, were frequent part time residents of Columbia in past years, usually during the summer at the family home on Mayne Lane, off Greensburg Street. She was an artist and author. Her last visit here was at the time of hurricane Katrina in 2005. Her final resting place will be in Fudge Cemetery in Breeding, KY

Mrs. Helen Rosson Mayne of Slidell, LA, died at her home Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the age of 94.

Memorial Service will be held May 6, 2017, at the North Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 28662 Krentel Rd, Lacombe, LA 70445, where Helen and Larry were founding members. She requested that her remains be buried next to her parents in Fudge Cemetery, 847 Independence Ridge Road, Breeding, KY.



She was the daughter of of James A. Rosson of Breeding, KY and Eula L. Stapp of Sparksville, KY.

Helen had an adoptive sister, Marcella M. Cheatham, daughter of Orville Cheatham and Bessie Epperson of Cumberland County.

She is survived by:
  • Two sons, Alan and Glen Mayne of Louisiana

  • Two grand daughters: Amber Grego and Chloe Mayne, children of Alan and Linda Mayne

  • And one great-grand daughter, Harper, child of Amber and Joey Grego
She and her husband, Larry, were frequent part time residents of Columbia in past years, usually during the summer at the family home on Mayne Lane, off Greensburg Street.

Their most recent residence in Columbia was immediately after the devastating hurricane Katrina in 2005.
