Charles William Isenberg, 91, Summer Shade, KY (1925-2017)

He was a farmer and school bus driver. He was a deacon at the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of a leading Summer Shade area family, the son of the late Lanos & Ruby Jewel Garmon Isenberg. His wife of 69 years, Emogene Crumpton Isenberg, survives. He leaves five direct and one step living descendants.

Charles William Isenberg, age 91, of Summer Shade, died Thursday, April 13, 2017, at T J Samson Hospital.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 17, 2017, at 2pmCT at the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 16, 2017 from 12pmNoonCT until 8pmCT and continue on Monday from 7amCT till 9amCT at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Rd., Summer Shade, KY, and after 10amCT at the church until time of services.



Charles William Isenberg, 91, Summer Shade, KY (1925-2017)


Born December 12, 1925 in Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, he was a son of the late Lanos & Ruby Jewel Garmon Isenberg. He died Thursday, April 13, 2017, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 91 years, four months, and one day.

He was the husband of Emogene Crumpton Isenberg, who survives. They were married for over 69 years.

He was a farmer and school bus driver. He was a deacon at the Summer Shade Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include:
  • One daughter: Becky (John) Coulter, Glasgow, KY

  • One son: Joe Neal (Michelle) Isenberg of Pennsylvania

  • Three grandchildren: Chris Isenberg, Burkesville, KY; Brian Isenberg, Franklin, KY, and and Krista Isenberg, Nashville, TN

  • One great grandchild: Headon Isenberg

  • And one step great grandchild: Alex Isenberg
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
