Rickey Lynn Cooper, 68, Casey Co, KY/Russell Co., KY native (1948-2017)

He was a Veteran of US Army, a member of Thomas Ridge Church and a retired Principal in the Casey County School system. He was a native of Jamestown, KY, and a resident of Liberty, KY, at the time of his death. He was a member of an outstanding family, the son of the late Olan Dewey & Margie Back Cooper. His wife, LaDonna Kay Combest Cooper, survives. he leaves six direct living descendants.

Rickey Lynn Cooper, 68, of Liberty, KY died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, KY.

Funeral service for Rickey Lynn Cooper will be 11amCT/12pmET, Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn and Bro. Rick Cross officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Thursday, April 6, 2017 and after 8pmCT/9pmET, Friday. Interment in the Jamestown City Cemetery, 201 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY. Pallbearers: Dr. Victor Cooper, Dr. Ron Cooper, J.W. Hendrix, Christopher Petrey, McKay Allen, and Roger Leigh.

He was born August 4, 1948 in Jamestown, Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Olan Dewey & Margie Back Cooper. He died April 4, 2017, in Danville, Boyle County, KY, at the age of 68 years, seven months.

He was a Veteran of US Army, a member of Thomas Ridge Church and a retired Principal in the Casey County School system. Survivors include:
  • His wife: LaDonna Kay Combest Cooper, Liberty, KY

  • Three daughters: Kristin (J.W.) Hendrix, Lexington, KY; Kasey (Christopher) Petrey, Richmond, KY; and Kayla (McKay) Allen, Liberty, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Lauryn & Mila Hendrix, and Cooper Allen

  • One sister: Deborah (Danny) Connor, Jamestown, KY
